People often say that images tell more than words could ever do. But what about images without a deeper meaning… like a story line which sweeps you off your feet. What value holds this figure of speech then?
That’s why I want to produce videos which really matter and

I get my inspiration from a wide variety of film genres and industries. From Japanese animé (Manga) and Bollywood (Indian cinema) to documentaries and interviews: I try to watch and analyse as much as I can to try and improve my video making skills.

My Video Journey

2000

My first camera. Ever.

My first camera. Ever.

Picture me. 15 years old. I bought my first ever videocamera including mini videotapes. Yes, you heard it well. Which meant: no memory cards and nothing digitally! Over the span of 3 years, I bought several camera’s to keep myself up-to-date regarding the fast moving forward technology and I filmed many family parties, school trips and basketball practises and games. Sigh… talking about taking a trip down memory lane.

NEW Camera: Canon 450D, Canon 700D & Canon 70D

It was finally time for a change of scenery! To make the jump to better and more professional video quality, I started with the purchase of the Canon 450D. Not long after that, I jumped to the Canon 700D, just to eventually end up with the Canon 70D.

My job at the National Dutch broadcasting station

My job at the National Dutch broadcasting station

Websites, online marketing and video content. Those were the main three pillars regarding my job activities, when I worked for the OHM, a small broadcasting station which operated under the wings of the NPO, the main Dutch broadcasting station. The OHM produced content (radio programmes,  television shows and website items) revolving around Hinduism, yoga, India and spirituality.

Experimenting = Key!

Experimenting = Key!

This year, I started to experiment more and more to find out what kind of film maker I truly was. I tried to develop my skills by adding story telling as good as possible to every video I made. I studied interviewing and started making travel videos while I was abroad: India, Indonesia and America.

NEW Camera: Panasonic GH-5

NEW Camera: Panasonic GH-5

To lift my video qualities to another level, I decided to purchase a brand new camera. After done my fair share of research, I decided to pick the Panasonic GH-5! Armed with several lenses, a brand new LAV mic, pistol mic and the DJI Ronin S as my stabilizer, I was determined to commit myself to a new adventure!

Investing in myself | Part III

Investing in myself | Part III

The only investment which will last a lifetime, is an investment in yourself. Once again I hit the (virtual) books and decided to follow the intensive online video course, named Fulltime Film Maker, by the American Film Maker, Parker Walbeck. From film angles to the right tools, the editing proces and business side of it. You name it, Walbeck covered it.

Online Course Creator (Parker Walbeck) and Lighting Secrets (Eric Thayne) were the two online courses which I was focussed on for the entire year. Learning how to set up an online course from A to Z and lighting for videos, were both valuable assets and a neccisity for my own growth.
